The Spring Festival is the most important time for family reunions and meeting old friends. Many people travel from far and wide, but not everyone is able to move.

As part of its long-established corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, managers and staff from Tangla Sanya Hotel visited Sanya City Hongguang Primary School on 22 January, at the end of term. They shared their New Year greetings and blessings with students and staff alike, receiving a warm and joyful welcome.

Tangla people always visit this school on important occasions, becoming new aunts and uncles for many of the children. Some dressed up in festive clothes to the children’s delight, with the God of Wealth attracting much attention.

General Manager Albert Leong spoke about the importance of retaining and transmitting traditional Chinese cultural activities and values, with a focus on family, harmony, peace, happiness and joy.

After an award ceremony for the best students, the formalities were completed and it was time to chat about the holidays over snacks provided by the hotel.  The children talked excitedly about their plans and achievements to date, while GM Leong sat under a tree to explain – in simple terms – the essence of Hainan Airlines’ culture and its roots in core Chinese values.

Small gifts were distributed to mark the occasion and everyone went home happy.
