Hainan receives 38,000 tourists on 2011 Chinese New Year’s Eve
Tourism in Hainan appeared at a stable growth at the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit, according to figures released by the Hainan Tourism Administration on Feb. 2, the first day of the weeklong holiday.
According to statistics, the number of tourists arrival in Hainan reached 61,004 at the beginning of the Chinese New Year holiday, a decrease of 6.66% compared to the same period last year, while outbound tourists totaled 48,868, a decrease of 5.62%.
In terms of tourist attractions, they have received 38,000 tourists in 10 selected scenic spots, and ticket revenue reached 1,884 million yuan, a slight decrease of 9.1% and 9.18% respectively compared with the same period last year.
The number of visitors spending nights in hotels went up 3.2% to 6,299 on Feb. 2, the Chinese New Year Eve, among which, the average hotel occupancy rate in Haikou exceeded 50% while the occupancy rate in Sanya was above 70%.
