Sanya to welcome 7,000 cruise passengers during Spring Festival
Sanya has enjoyed rapid growth in its cruise tourism industry in recent years, in 2013, the Sanya Phoenix Island Cruise Terminal witnessed a record high 224 cruise departures and arrivals, with the number of cruise passengers reaching 135,328, up 30% and 15% over the previous year, according to the statistics.
More than 7,000 cruise ship passengers are expected to visit the tropical tourist city of Sanya during the upcoming 2014 Spring Festival Holiday, an increase of 100% compared to the rest of the year.
According to the Sanya Municipal Coast Defence and Port Office, the number of cruise ship departures and arrivals in Sanya is expected to reach 7 during the Spring Festival, and a total of 14 voyages will be offered to international and domestic tourists.
