In the first half of 2013, tourism revenue in Sanya totaled 12.352 billion yuan, an increase of 20.83% over last year.
In recent years, Sanya’s tourism has boomed on the back of a wide range of new tourism formats and products including low-altitude airspace helicopter tourism, duty-free shopping tourism, cultural performances, yacht & cruise tourism, golf tourism, and so on.
According to the relevant head in Sanya’s government, the number of cruises, covering the low-end, mid-range and high-end of three markets, is expected to reach 23,500 by 2030.
