Kuala Lumpur- Haikou chartered flights to be re-launched in Nov
Chartered flights between Kuala Lumpur and Haikou will be re-launched in November, according to Hainan Tourism Development Commission.
The decision was made during the tourism promotional campaign launched by the Haikou Tourism Development Commission in Malaysia.
The South-east Asian region (especially Singapore and Malaysia) is the second largest source of inbound tourists for Hainan. However, the number of Malaysian tourists visiting the province has been declining sharply since chartered flights between Kuala Lumpur and Haikou were suspended in March, 2010.
The move aims to bolster the number of tourists from Malaysia, officials with the Hainan Tourism Development Commission said.
After their resumption, chartered flights between the two cities will run on the 16th, 21th, 26th November, and 1st, 11th, 16th, 21st December.
Besides the resumption of chartered flights, a number of tourism cooperation agreements between Haikou and Malaysia were also signed during the promotional campaign.
