On June 25, the Green Committee of Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa organised beach cleaning and mobilized its staff to take part in the event to work together for a better environment as well as to respond to Accor’s Planet 21 Program.

There were 14 participating staffs from each department of the hotel. The beach cleaning exercise covered the 150-metre long sandy beach, surrounding bushes, the beach decking and boardwalk area. The garbage collected included the discarded wooden boards, twigs, and the construction waste left over by the workers. The whole process took around 2 hours under the burning sun. Apart from the cleaning itself, keeping environment clean and green awareness to protect our living surroundings are some of the messages that Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa would like to convey to its staff.

Accor’s planet 21 Program is the 21 commitments Accor Hotels around the world have made to act together for the well-being of our planet. The name Planet 21 refers to Agenda 21, the action plan adopted by the 173 Heads of State at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. It also echoes the urgent need to focus efforts in the 21st century to change our production and consumption patterns with the goal of protecting our planet, its people and their environment.

Little by little, together we make a better tomorrow for our next generation.
