18 members of cross-provincial drug trafficking ring arrested in Hainan
Eighteen members of a suspected cross-provincial drug trafficking ring were nabbed in the southern-most Chinese island province of Hainan earlier this month, local police authorities announced Monday.
Police seized 28.2 kg of ketamine and 752 ecstasy pills in raids in five cities across Hainan on Jan. 5, the Hainan Provincial Public Security Bureau said in a press release.
Police also seized 652,400 yuan (99,120 U.S. dollars) in drug profits, four cars, two motorcycles and 10 bullets, it said.
The ring members transported drugs from Huizhou City, Guangdong Province to Hainan across the sea, it said.
