Hainan becomes hottest tourist destination as cold snap hits China
As the only tropical island in China, Hainan has seen a surge in travelers for this year’s upcoming Spring Festival, reports Hainan.net.
The tourism market in Hainan during this year’s Spring Festival is expected to enjoy a stable growth, and private tours and family tours have become the main kinds of tour.
“Because most parts of the mainland recently is suffering from cold weather, which therefore leads to a boom in the tourism market in Hainan”, said a staff with a local travel agency. Besides, a series of policies and intervention on hotel rates during Spring Festival also strengthened tourists’ confidence of choosing Hainan as their travel destination.
“We’ve booked a family hostel in advance. We plan to spend Spring Festival in such a beautiful island when the school’s winter holidays begin”, said Mr. Zhang, a tourist from southwest China’s Chongqing City.
It is estimated that during this year’s Spring Festival, 30% of tourists will choose hotels while the rest will choose B&B (Bread & Breakfast) inns or rented apartments which are more affordable for them.
