Haikou provides more subsidies for airlines to boost tourism industry
Recently, the Hainan government has made a few adjustments on the Temporary Regulations on Encouraging Passenger Airline Development with a view to enhancing the growth of the Hainan Tourism Industry and adding a boost to the airline industry development of Haikou.
The policy states that the newly registered aircraft, which has over 25 (include 25 flights) overstay flights every month at Haikou Meilan Airport, will be rewarded of 4 million yuan.
In face of the decline in flights number during the summer and autumn schedule, the new policy started to extend the period for rewards from April 1 to September 30. During the period, flights of domestic airline companies to Sanya will receive a subsidy of 15,000 yuan for each increased flight made from the previous month.
According to the new standards, all existing airlines based in Haikou Meilan Airport will receive an additional subsidy ranging from 1 million yuan to 3 million yuan given the condition that their annual passenger throughput will increase above 8%.
In 2012, Haikou has allocated a total of financial support of 130 million yuan on the aviation market. It is predicted that after the revise of several articles, the total subsidy has increase from 107.86 million yuan to 101.9 million yuan.
