China Airlines is expected to launch Los Angeles-Sanya flight in August, 2012.

A promotional conference, which aimed to introduce Hainan high-quality tourism resources to the local tourism enterprises, was held by Sanya delegation in Los Angeles on 24th May. The Sanya delegation reached a consensus with two local tourism enterprises on propelling the launch of LA-Taipei-Sanya flight in this year.

According to Shi Jiaguo, the marketing department chief of Taiwan’s China Airlines, the number of flights from LA and San Francisco to Taipei reaches 19 every week. And they are mulling over a ‘multi-stop flight’, which will connect LA, Taipei and Sanya together.

During the promotional conference, 4 representatives from Sanya introduced the different tourism resources of Haitang Bay, Yalong Bay, Daidonghai and Sanya Bay. The CEO of America Asia Travel Center Gu Ruxin said that Sanya is fairly attractive to Americans, and Chinese Americans in particular.

America Asia Travel Center Inc is a large tourism enterprise with several subsidiaries in North America. “We have tried to open up the Hainan tourism market before, but flights are always a bottleneck for us,” said Gu.

The Taipei-Sanya flight has run well after it was launched in September last year by Taiwan’s China Airlines. Shi shows great confidence in the LA-Taipei-Sanya flight and plans to launch the flight in August this year.
