Hainan releases new regulation for yacht industry
On the morning of Jan 13, 2011, the Hainan Maritime Safety Administration launched a press conference on the temporary approach to yacht safety management. This new regulation marked that Hainan province becomes the most open and freest marine zone in China.
Zhang Jie, deputy chief of Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, said the administration has been working on solving problems facing the development of the Hainan yacht industry. On Dec 29, 2010, the temporary approach for yacht safety management was officially released and took effect.
According to the approach, new breakthroughs have been achieved in the yacht industry management including the simplification of the examination procedure of imported yachts, permission for foreigners to achieve a yacht license in Hainan, looser restriction on the registration of foreign yachts and recognition of a foreign yacht license.
