China Airlines Ltd. (CAL), Taiwan’s leading air carrier, will newly open seven new flight routes across the Taiwan Strait beginning from Oct. 31.

The seven flight routes include Taoyuan-Haikou, Taichung-Chongqing, Taoyuan-Nanchang, Kaohsiung-Changsha, Kaohsiung-Chongqing, Taoyuan-Dalian, Taichung-Nanchang. In addition, the carrier will launch Kaohsiung-Kuala Lumpur new routes. All the new flight routes are expected to be profitable immediately after maiden flights are launched.

On Nov. 4, CAL chairman Chang Chia-juch will fly to Dalian to host the maiden flight ceremony for the Taoyuan-Dalian route.

CAL said it will offer preferential-price tickets to celebrate the inauguration of these routes across the Taiwan Strait in the initial stage. For instance, the two-week-long ticket price for the Taoyuan-Haikou route is set at NT$11,186 with taxes included. The price for the Taoyuan-Nanchang starts from NT$14,083 and the Taoyuan-Dalian route, NT$13,986.

Thanks to the inauguration of these new flight routes, CAL will operate 103 flights per week to 24 destinations in mainland beginning from Nov. 5.
