Hotels in Sanya will be subject to a government policy designed to stabilize hikes in hotel room rates during the National Day holiday, according to Sanya Commodity Price Bureau.
According to the regulation, hotel rates should be no more than 15% higher than the rates compared to the same period of 2010.
Besides, local authorities implemented a new regulation for newly open or expanded hotels. These kinds of hotels can refer to the average rates given at a similar hotel during the holidays.
All types of hotels in the city are required to submit their detailed hotel rates to the local price control department before August 20. The approved hotels will be publicized on the government website http://wj.sanya.gov.cn/.
A strict restriction imposed on hotel prices by the provincial Price Control Bureau will be applied to major tourist cities from Oct. 1 to 7 to prevent steep hikes.
