Mr. Sunny Heng has been appointed as General Manager of the first St. Regis Resort in Southern China, The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort, which is scheduled to open in November 2011.

"I am delighted to help open this beautiful, new St. Regis along one of China’s most spectacular coastlines," says Heng. "I look forward to delivering the renowned St. Regis experience to our guests that includes contemporary luxury and onsite amenities along with the signature bespoke services."

A veteran hotelier with more than 30 years experience, Sunny Heng joins St. Regis after two years as General Manager at the Westin Tianjin and, before that, six years as General Manager of the Sheraton Tianjin Hotel.

Mr. Heng began with Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1991 as Director of Food and Beverage at Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort.

Born in Malaysia, Mr. Heng received his degree in Business Management at Australia’s prestigious Bond University.
