Hainan Airlines announced it will open an additional flight from Hefei, capital city of Anhui province, to Sanya, Hainan province on May 2, in a bid to ease the air passenger flow which has been on the rise ever since the tropical island province initiated an offshore duty-free policy trial on April 21.

The flight, numbered HU 7659/60, will be available every even-numbered day. It is scheduled to depart from Sanya at 9 am and arrive in Hefei at 11:40 am. The return flight takes off at 12:30 pm in Hefei and lands in Sanya at 15:20 pm.

The offshore duty-free policy allows each tourist to purchase items totaling no more than 5,000 yuan($743) on the island without taxation.
