China’s Hainan Airlines Group has ordered 32 Boeing 787s and six 777 freighters for group member carrier Hong Kong Airlines.

The announcement was made at the opening of Asian Aerospace 2011 at AsiaWorld Expo, Hong Kong, yesterday.

Boeing said it was in the process of finalising the details of the deal with Hong Kong Airlines and claimed the long-haul aircraft would enhance the carrier’s ability to match the demands of the different markets it serves, and connect its long-haul network to local sources of demand.
