HNA inks co-op deal with China Telecom to launch air communication service
HNA Group inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Telecom, the largest fixed telecom operator in China, on February 18, 2011.
The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in air ticket business, mobile phone check-in, call center service, air communication, point exchange, resources sharing, etc. The Hainan-based group is expected to become the first airline providing information services, such as air communication and net surfing, for customers in China.
HNA Chairman Chen Feng said at the signing ceremony that the cooperation will bring in a wider prospect to the group’s internal communication level, informatization of sales network, sales channel expansion, market share increase, etc., adding that the two parties will jointly boost the informatization construction of the Hainan International Tourism Island based on the mutual boost and joint development principle.
China Telecom General Manager Wang Xiaochu showed that the operator has built the global largest e surfing network realizing commerice use earliest and full-aspect and best-quality network coverage in the Chinese market. By far, the number of e surfing users has been close to 100 million, including mor ethan 13 million 3G users.
