Robert Hidey Architects designs new resort villa in Clearwater Bay, Hainan
The Hainan Island destination sits on a white-sand beachfront property and features lounges, pools, cabanas and cafes among boardwalks and "sports courts." The residential and retail areas of the resort are joined by the palm-lined Ocean Boulevard, and nature trails and pedestrian walkways connect the detached clusters of villa homes to the beach.
Robert Hidey Architects’ villa designs range from 1,000 to 1,400 square feet, with some as large as 4,000 square feet. The designs take advantage of the island’s year-round temperatures of 77 degrees; many of the rooms do not have glass or exterior walls, allowing the warm trade winds to blow through the homes.
The resort currently has three model-home units available for public viewing.
Robert Hidey, a residential architectural firm, has designed projects in Irvine, Beverly Hills and Durango, Colo., and internationally in Beijing, Dubai and India, among other areas. The company is currently working on eight projects in China, including a luxury residential development in Wuhan and a master-planned, single-family detached community in Beijing.
