Banyan Tree Sanya wins ‘Top Ten Luxury Hotel’ award from Travel & Leisure

These awards and accolades further boost the Group’s growing presence in China, and is a sign of its success in having pioneered and delivered unique travel experiences. The Group currently operates six resorts in China and will be opening Banyan Tree Macau, Banyan Tree Riverside, Shanghai, Banyan Tree Tianjin and Angsana Hangzhou later this year. Banyan Tree Mayakoba, located in the vibrant Riviera Maya, Mexico, has also been given the nod by travellers on TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2011, garnering a total of seven accolades. It has been named as one of the Top 25 Hotels in the World, as well as one of the most romantic hotels in the Caribbean and Mexico, and in the World. The resort also garnered significant recognition for being the most luxurious hotel and one of the top relaxation and spa hotels in the region and globally, and for its high service standards.

Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has been named second in British Airways High Life’s Top 5 Green Hotel Chains, which recognises the Group’s contributions and efforts in protecting the environment whilst operating its hotels and resorts around the world.

On the spa front, the multi-award-winning Banyan Tree Spa once again affirms its position as one of Asia’s leading spa operators after being awarded Best Spa Brand, for the fifth consecutive time, by the prestigious Hurun Report’s Best of the Best Awards 2011. Banyan Tree Spa Shanghai and Angsana Spa Hotel Nikko Shanghai also clinched the top spot as Best Spa and Best New Spa respectively, by Travel & Leisure China. In addition, despite having been in operation for only six months, Banyan Tree Spa Samui has been awarded the Best Spa Center in the world by Russian travel publication, Afisha Mir.
