Nanchang Changbei International Airport (昌北国际机场) has announced that it will launch new flights — to Wenzhou, Wuhan, and Hefei — as part of its winter and spring flight schedule.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has officially set the winter and spring flight schedule for the country’s civil aviation industry for the period from October 31, 2010 to March 26, 2011.

Under the new schedule, Nanchang Airport will have 26 domestic routes, operating flights to 20 Chinese provinces and 29 Chinese cities. It will also have two international routes linking to Hong Kong and Taipei.

In addition, the airport has increased flight frequencies to Beijing, Nanning, Xiamen, Xi’an, Haikou, and Ganzhou, with two daily flights added on the Nanchang-Beijing route.

In the first 10 months of this year, passenger and cargo throughputs at Nanchang Airport were 4.01 million and 26,500 tons respectively, an increase of 20.7% and 36.7%, over the previous year.

The number of aircraft takeoff and landings rose 13.1% year on year to 44,100.
