The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya receives two accolades for being green

The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya has received two accolades for its commitment to running and operating an environmentally conscious hotel: The Gold Leaf Grade ‘China Green Hotel’ and The ‘Top 10 Green Hotel Room’. These awards by given to the hotel by the National Green Hotel Committee and China Hotel Association – which are the highest certifications for recognizing a hotel’s contribution toward environmental conservation, greening programmes, food safety and hygiene, and energy efficiency.

Continuing The Ritz-Carlton brand’s longstanding Community Footprint and Give Back Getaway activity, The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya has established a long-term programme based on environment protection. It embraces the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” philosophy in order to minimize the amount of waste sent to landfill; this is achieved through a combination of garbage sorting and temperature controlling, maximizing new technology and innovative practices to conserve energy, including the INNCOM system which intelligently manages guest room lighting and air-conditioning to ensure its highly efficient operation.

In addition, the hotel reduces the use of water by a sewage disposal system and solar energy usage to protect our natural resources. A further highlight is the Uncle Martin’s Secret Garden which is built by Martin Li, the Director of Engineering, which aims at advocating the concept of a green life by offering guests the opportunity to plant organic vegetables and create a truly natural paradise.

The Green Hotel Award stands for energy and resources saving, resource protection and food safety. With a strong commitment to the environment and saving resources, the hotel employs technology that makes more efficient energy use possible.

A "Green Hotel" must be energy-efficient and environmental-friendly. The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya will continually contribute to environmental protection and to incorporate the concept of sustainable development to protect the environment, conserve resources and maintain the ecological balance.
