China Southern Airlines to add 28 aircrafts and 93 routes in Hainan by 2015
The Guangzhou-based airline and the local government said they hope to promote Hainan as an international tourism destination. CZ Chairman Si Xiamin said the carrier plans to open new international routes from Hainan to Japan, South Korea and Russia and offer "air express service" by boosting flight frequencies to Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Of the 93 routes expected to be added, 26 will be international.
CZ said it will increase its share of the Hainan market to 40% by 2015 from 33% today. It currently operates 22 aircrafts from Hainan to 42 destinations.
