Hainan Airlines will launch Manchuria-Irkutsk flights twice a week

IRKUTSK, August 24 (Itar-Tass) – Direct flights between Irkutsk and China’s Manchuria have been opened.

Hainan Airlines will make flights twice a week – on Tuesday and on Friday, the directorate of the Irkutsk Airport told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"Direct air link with Manchuria is a long-standing need. It was impossible to open direct flights until the local airport got the international status and the two countries’ aviation services signed the relevant agreement," the source said.

Until now it took around 36 hours to go from Irkutsk to Manchuria by train or by car.
