Kuoni Group, the largest tourism enterprise in Switzerland, will launch charter flights from seven European cities to Sanya from April 11, 2010.

Veronique Ducassy, the managing director of Kuoni Travel (China) Destination Management, said during a visit to Sanya that Kuoni Travel will join hands with Sanya to expand the European source market by launching charter flights from seven European cities including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Novosibirsk to Sanya. These seven cities will have a total seven flights each week to Sanya, and the number of flights will be increased by the end of May 2010.

Ducassy added that Sanya, with its unique tourism resources, is very attractive to European tourists. Though it was her first visit to Sanya, Ducassy was quite optimistic about the prospects of cooperation between Kuoni Group and Sanya.

Sanya’s inbound tourism market continues to recover in 2010 after suffering from the global financial crisis. In the first two months of 2010, inbound tourist arrivals and foreign exchange earnings from tourism had increased by 8.2% and 9.7% compared to the same period in 2009.
