As MGM Resorts International (MGM: 9.97 +1.53%) focuses on re-branding the company to focus growth in international markets, MGM Hospitality, the branded luxury hospitality division adds industry veterans to the management team in an effort to meet growing demand for the MGM brand in the Middle East/North Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.

MGM has said that they are actively pursuing a number of deals aimed at developing non-gaming MGM Grand, Bellagio and Skylofts brand properties, within, Sanya, Chengdu and Tianjin, China; Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt; Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Ho Tram, Vietnam. The MGM Grand Sanya on Hainan Island is scheduled to open in September 2011 and will be MGM’s first non casino project to be completed.

"There’s a growing appetite globally to bring the refined luxury, excitement and service standards synonymous with the MGM brand to leading international hotel and resort destinations," said Michael Evans, MGM Hospitality Executive Vice President of Global Development.

With the new appointments, Michael Sagild will direct MGM Hospitality’s Asia-Pacific development activities from Hong Kong and David Vely will pursue new opportunities for MGM Hospitality in the Middle East/North Africa region from Dubai.
