Sanya among top 10 popular domestic tourist destinations for CNY holiday

A ranking list released by China’s well-known travel website ctrip.com together with the China Tourism Research Institute ranked Sanya 7th among the top 10 popular domestic tourist destination cities in term of the number of arrivals during the Spring Festival Golden Week holiday in the Chinese Lunar Year of the Snake.

The top 10 most popular domestic tourist destination cities are Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Sanya, Hangzhou, Xi’an and Xiamen.

As for the number of departures, the top ten cities are Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Sanya, Kunming, Xiamen and Chongqing.

It has become more and more popular for urban domestic citizens whose interest in beach tourism has been on the rise, to visit cities such as Sanya and Xiamen to spend the Spring Festival Golden Week holiday in 2013
