Sanya Railway Station has been ordered to make full preparations for an expected surge in passenger flow which may begin on January 26.

More than 480,000 passengers, mainly migrant workers and college students, are expected to embark on their homeward journey for family reunions during the Spring Festival rush which will last for 40 days from January 26 till March 6, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%.

To handle the passenger flow, the railway authority is planning to open 18 ticket counters and ticket selling machines in the train station.

Passengers will be able to purchase train tickets on the spot or up to 18 days in advance to ensure availability. Ticket windows in the railway station operate from 6:00am to 00:30am to provide a convenient ticket-buying experience.
