Sanya sees hotel occupancy rate up 30% YOY during 2012 ‘Golden Week’
The Golden Week holiday is now in its 5th day of celebrations, and Sanya has witnessed an ever increasing number of tourists flocking to the city for their holiday tours.
The hotel occupancy rate in Sanya peaked between the 2nd and 4th of October. Most of the hotels in Yalong Bay, Dadonghai and Sanya Bay have an occupancy rate of over 80%.
During this period, some of the management bodies of the popular scenic spots carried out preferential policies such as lowering entry fees in order to attract more tourists.
The number of tourists visiting Sanya’s scenic spots this year has been three times that of a normal day, a total increase of 10% from the same time last year, said a member of staff at the West Island scenic area. The spot has also taken additional security measures to ensure tourists have a safe and enjoyable time.
As well as this, the number of tourists taking part in self-driven tours in Sanya continues to increase. On Thursday alone the number of tourists visiting Tianyahaijiao and Nanshan Cultural Zone exceeded 20,000.
