Traveling around Hainan Island within a day by public transport is NOT impossible now, thanks to the recently constructed high speed rails. The East Ring High-speed Railway started operation in Hainan on December 30, 2010. The bullet trains, with 15 pairs which hit the tracks every day, are designed at a top speed of 280 km/h and stop at 10 stations along the island. It only takes about 90 min. to travel between Sanya and Haikou, compared with the previous 3 hours.

If you plan a trip to cover the whole Hainan Island, try to travel by the high-speed rail, it is time saving, convenient and covers large area of Hainan from north to south.
