There are currently two airports in Hainan Province. Haikou Meilan International Airport and Sanya Phoenix International Airport have flights to and from 39 cities at home and abroad.
 
These include Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Taiyuan, Xi’an, Changchun, Harbin, Dalian, Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Nanjing, Hefei, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Wenzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Guilin, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Shenzhen, Shantou, Zhanjiang, Beihai, Changzhou, Lanzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
 
In addition, there are special mini-airliners that carry passengers to and from different places throughout the island.
 
Haikou Flights

Daily flights are available between Haikou and numerous domestic cities including Beijing (3 hours), Shanghai (2 hours), Chongqing (3 hours), Chengdu (3 hours), Wuhan (3 hours), Guangzhou (1 hour), Shenzhen (1 hour) and Zhuhai (1 hour).
 
There are also international flights from Haikou to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The airport is 20 km from downtown Haikou and only 6 km from a number of major hotels. The easiest way to reach the airport is by taxi.

Sanya Flights 
 
Sanya Phoenix International Airport
 
Phoenix Airport is 20 km to the of Sanya city. Now, there are more than 30 domestic direct flights to Sanya including those from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Wuhan, Qingdao, as well as international routes including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Seoul, Tokyo, Moscow and Osaka.
 
There is a highway linking the airport and the city centre. You can take a taxi or a bus to the city centre. In addition there are direct buses to Sanya Bay and Dadonghai from the airport.
