Hainan has long had a reputation as a destination for golfing enthusiasts in Asia. In recent years the golfing industry has grown rapidly, with a large number of courses and excellent facilitates attracting international golf events such as the 2010 and 2011 LPGA tournaments.
These days one is never far from a golf course or driving range in Sanya – From the Luhuitou peninsular in Sanya city to Yalong Bay, the mountains around Baoting and all along the coast to Haikou there are world class courses.
Many of these courses are complete high end resorts in themselves, with hotels, restaurants and conference facilities in the same complex.
