Sanya was ranked first among China’s top 10 most popular tourist destinations during Qingming Festival, according to Ctrip.com, a major travel portal in China.
 
The top 10 popular tourist destinations in China were Sanya, Shanghai, Wuyuan, Xiamen, Beijing, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Huangshan, Qiandaohu and Xi’an.
 
Besides, the top 10 popular domestic scenic spots were Gulangyu Island, Yalong Bay, West Lake, Lijiang Ancient City, Wuyuan Rape Flower Scenic Spot Xiamen University, Palace Museum, Phoenix Ancient Town, Wuhan University and Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses.
 
During this year’s Qingming Festival, over 60% of tourists chose to be free independent travelers, which has far exceeded that of last year.
