A wonderful waterfront landscape belt combining an amazing bridge view and fantastic lighting and plant landscape will be built along the beautiful Sanya River, according to the Sanya River Waterfronts Protection and Utilization plan launched in June 2012.
The planning research area contains the east and west rivers with a total length of about 33 kilometers, and the major planning area stretches from the mouth of the river in the south to the East-Ring High Speed Railway in the north, involving a total length of about 20.4 kilometers.
According to the plan, the Sanya government will focus on the comprehensive improvement of the water quality and environment of the river firstly.
Upon its completion, the project will combine seven function areas including the dynamic port area, urban waterfront leisure area, mangrove romantic scenery area, waterfront resort leisure area, suburb travel experience area, rural cultural sightseeing area and natural landscape conservation area.
