6 top-performing travel agents rewarded in Haitang Bay, Sanya
The Haitang Bay Management Committee in Sanya hosted a conference to award top-performing travel agents as part of a tour sales incentive scheme at Hainan Bay on May 16.
This March, the Committee invited travel agencies to develop and promote tours to Haitang Bay. The drive started on April 1st and will last until September 30th.
In April, the hotels and scenic spots in Haitang Bay received 166,292 tourist arrivals, a year-on-year increase of 53.45%. The hotel occupancy rate increased 20.7% and tourism revenue showed a 10.14% increase year on year.
A total of 19 travel agents applied for the reward program, amongst which 6 were rewarded with nearly 220,000 yuan by Haitang Bay Management Committee.
Under the reward policy, 15,947 guest rooms have been booked out, accounting for 48.3% of the total accommodation capacity.
Haitang Bay is an important part of Hainan’s strategy to create an international tourism island. A total of 32 high-end five-star hotels are planned for its 22-km-long coastline.
These international hotel brands include The Royal Begonia, Sheraton, Conrad, Doubletree Resort by Hilton, Kempinski, The Westin, Intercontinental, Sofitel, Hyatt, Shangri-La, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Atlantis, Waldorf, Mandarin Oriental, The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Crowne Plaza and Wyndham.
