Tourists choosing one-day tours in Sanya will be pleased to find a new related measure released by the National Tourism Bureau with the aim of regulating the one-day tour market.

The cheaper prices, extra itineraries, shopping stops and high kickbacks are the common problems found on one-day tours that damage tourist interests. Among them, the shopping stops are the major complaint from tourists.

The new measure decrees that the shopping itinerary, charge service for extra tour products and individual tour activities formerly included in the one-day-tour contract will be cancelled. Meanwhile, travel agents have to compensate 20% of the total tour expense to tourists each time if they are found to be arranging or playing tricks on tourists to go shopping during the contract period.

According to the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, they will work out a specific plan after being officially informed by the state tourism bureau to keep the one-day tour more transparent and provide a guideline for the local travel agents.
