New food street planned in Sanya Bay
Plans have been made to build a new food street in the Haipo section of Sanya Bay, in order to solve employment problems for local farmers who have given their land-rights to the government.
More than 100 food stalls operate without licenses along Sanya Bay and the huge number of local three-wheel motorcycles also causes huge problems with traffic congestion.
The construction of the food street will not only offer them job opportunities, but will also improve the city’s appearance by reducing the operation of street businesses without licenses, said the local authority.
Aside from this, local departments have been called on to strengthen efforts to crackdown on illegal traffic, and a plan to install surveillance devices on key road sections will be carried out shortly.
Located at the 420-meter-long coastline of Sanya Bay, the food street will begin construction in the coming days and is expected to be in operation by next year’s spring festival. About 50 BBQ stalls and 50 local specialty shops will be set up at the street. To protect the beach and local environment, all designs will feature a garden style.
