As the 5th Sanya International Rose Festival is scheduled to be held on December 12th this year, the city is striving to develop its rose industry by building Yalong Bay International Rose Valley into an international ‘rose town’ in the near future.

Built in June 2009, the Yalong Bay Rose Valley is the largest flower plantation base in Sanya, featuring 1,200 types of roses. It has since become a charming icon of Sanya’s agricultural leisure tourism.

In 2011 the Rose Valley was listed as one of key projects in Hainan and approved as a new tourist attraction by the Sanya tourism bureau.

After completion of the first phase of Yalong Rose Valley, the second phase project, which covers a total land use of 1,755 Mu, is under construction and will include a wedding shooting base, a high-quality international rose garden, a rose tea culture area, an edible rose dining area and multi-functional sites for hot-air balloon carnivals, touring cars and camping activities.

Aside from this, construction on the third phase has sped up its schedule to be built it into a rose scenery town, integrating leisure, holidays and low-carbon living with local rose culture.
