If you want fine dining experience, with the sound of live traditional Chinese music and awesome health giving dishes, Narada has just the restaurant for you. If you would like to venture deep into rainforest for some jungle culinary adventure, listen to the sound of nature like the flow of mountain spring water, birds, and insects, Narada has that restaurant for you too.
There are two restaurants at the Narada Resort and Spa. The Chinese restaurant is indoors and the dining area is connected to the lobby. The other is an outdoor restaurant; the dining area is nestled right inside the rainforest which serves western food. Together, they form the resort’s culinary excellence.

The food at the Chinese restaurant is very well presented and tastes as good as it looks.
The surroundings are relaxing and quiet, the only sound being a musical performance
using traditional string instruments

The Chinese restaurant is particularly impressive. We ate all vegetarian food, including delicious and beautifully presented pickled radish and spears of yam drizzled with purple sauce. There was a clear soup full of green mountain vegetables and mushrooms, and a few colourful and tasty mixed vegetable dishes, which included at least a few local vegetables that I would consider quite exotic. There was an egg dish which was very well prepared, fluffy and mild and with pieces of black tree fungus, which tastes better than it sounds. There were more yams and purple sweet potatoes and glutinous corn, and a three layered sort of pudding for dessert.

The local rice wine (本地米酒) was particularly delicious, and is definitely worth trying. The food at the Chinese restaurant is very well presented and tastes as good as it looks. The surroundings are relaxing and quiet, the only sound being a musical performance using traditional string instruments. I put it in the top three meals I have had in China, and it was definitely the nicest meal I have had anywhere in Hainan.

The Western restaurant is a buffet style. The highlight of dining experience of this outdoor
restaurant is not its food; it is the rainforest which surrounds it. No music could be
more entertaining than the natural sound of tropical rainforest

The Western restaurant is a buffet style, which includes Western and Chinese food. We had the breakfast there during our stay. The food did not disappoint. The buffet offers a wide variety of food and it is easy to find the right choice, making the Western restaurant a little more convenient for an expat like me. The highlight of dining experience of this outdoor restaurant is not its food; it is the rainforest which surrounds it. No music could be more entertaining than the natural sound of tropical rainforest.

If you are not staying at the resort and happen to be at Baoting or Seven Ferries Hill, both restaurants are still worth trying, and if you are the resort’s guests, there is certainly no need to leave Narada in search of delicious food with fine dining.
Bona Appétit!
