Sanya Yalong Bay
 
Known as the Oriental Hawaii, Yalong Bay is a national tourist zone and an AAAA-level scenic spot in China. Here, the beach stretches for eight kilometers and appears smooth and broad, with sands soft and clean and seawater crystal clear. Besides, the area also offers many luxury holiday resorts and golf clubs.

20 kilometers southeast of Sanya City and 270 kilometers from Haikou, Yalong Bay’s climate is tropical monsoon, and the annual average temperature is 25.5C.With the main attractions, Central Square, the Sea Shell Museum and the Butterfly Park; Yalong Bay has become a world-famous holiday resort. Situated in the same latitudes as Hawaii of the tropical monsoon area, the average temperature is 25.5C (77.9F) year round with water temperature averaging 25.1C (77.18F) and never dipping below 22C (71.6F). Yalong Bay has been regarded as the "Oriental Hawaii."

Yalong Bay enjoys a mild climate throughout the year, with no distinct seasons and long stretches of warm spells. It is summer all through the year, with no winter at all. Neither is there a distinct spring or autumn. Yalong Bay may be rated as the best winter resort in China.

What about the traffic

The main lines in the Holiday Zone are joined with the Highway surrounding the island from Haikou to Sanya, adjacent to the Yuling Habour of Sanya City in the west and about 45 kilometers away from the Pheonex Airport of Sanya.

The journey time from Sanya to Hong Kong, Macao, Taibei, Singapore, Bankok, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Canton and Shen Zhen, etc. is respectively all within 2 hours, and that to Japan is also a mere 4.5 hours. The transportation environment is rather superior.

Yalong Bay is at present a national tourist and holiday resort at the southern end of China. It clearly holds the potential to be a world-class first-rate tropical seaside resort with a rich and unique culture of different nationalities.

The tourist area faces the sea at its south like a crescent moon, and hills stand at its east, north, and west sides. The islets in the sea outside the Yalong Bay are really attractive with the Wild-pig Island at the center and the East Islet, the West Islet, the East Reefs, and the West Reefs scattered around.

In the Yalong Bay Central Square stands a Totem Pole of 27 meters (88.6 feet), on which the God of Sun, and Gods of Wind, Rain, and Thunder as well as those legendary animals such as Dragon, Phoenix, Kylin and Fish are engraved. The design of this square embodies the Chinese civilization of 5,000 years.

The Butterfly Park

Butterfly Park is a spectacular natural garden which merge the popular science, butterflies exhibition and shopping into an organic whole. In the Butterfly Park, an open air flight cage will ensure that visitors are able to interact closely with butterflies. In the large-scale exhibition hall, there are over 2000 kinds of specimens of butterflies and insects on display.
