Hainan’s 1st trash-burning power plant starts operation in Haikou
With a total investment of 466 million yuan, the first trash-burning power plant in Haikou, was put into operation on May 28, reports xinhuanet.com.
The plant will deal with 400,000 tons of household trash and the waste heat can generate 123 million kwh of electricity each year.
The garbage incineration system adopts advanced technologies and equipment that will fully burn the garbage and directly reduce 220,000 tons of carbon dioxide gas annually.
The project of trash-burning power plant is local government determination to gradually reduce landfill across the city and put more focus on comprehensive disposal of household trash.
With a highly advantaged incineration system, the emission targets of the Haikou trash-burning power plant will meet EU emission standards, according to the statistics from the plant.
