Sanya Dongtian Park (sān yà dà xiǎo dòng tiān 三亚大小洞天) is located 40 kilometers away to the west Sanya City (sān yà shì 三亚市) of Hainan Province (hǎi nán shěng 海南省). It is the Taoist tourist attraction at the very end of China. For its dainty sea, mountain, rocks, and caves, it is crowned as the No.1 Scenic Spot in Hainan.
As early as in the Song Dynasty (sòng cháo 宋朝), Sanya Dongtian Park was famous for its fairy caves and attracted many Taoists. According to historical records, in the Song Dynasty, a famous Taoist was once living in seclusion here and constructed the Taoist Temple so as to spread over Taoism. Nowadays the historical relics of Fairy Altar (xiān tán 仙坛), Footprint of Immortal (xiān rén zú 仙人足) are perserved. What’s more, there are the poems and essays written by litterateurs carving on the rock.

In Sanya Dongtian Park, the sea streches blue and vast, the rocks are of grotesque shapes. Together with the thick woods, it is like a picture of primitive simplicity. Besides the Shijian Peak (shì jiàn fēng 试剑峰), the Stone Boat (shí chuán 石船), there are the natural scenery of Peack Rock (xiān táo shí 仙桃石), Little Moon Bay (xiǎo yuè wān 小月湾) by the sea, and the dracaenas growing in the mountain. Dracaena is regarded as the live fossils in the world. However, there are more than 30 thousand dracaenas within the Sanya Dongtian Park, among which the oldest one is more than 6000 years old.
