20 govt officials from 13 developing countries lead study mission to Hainan
On December 1, more than 20 government officials from 13 developing countries and regions, such as Benin, Kenya, Tonga gathered in Hainan University to take part in over-twenty-day Island Climate Change and Tourism Development Workshop to learn about the current development situations and experience of Hainan in terms of tropical agriculture and tourism industry.
There are a number of similar foreign aid training classes in Hainan Province for recent years. Relevant leader from Department of Commerce of Hainan Province said that about ten foreign aid training classed were held successively for the past few years and over 200 officials and technical experts from 54 countries had received training in tropical agricultural technique and tourism management in succession in Hainan Province, most of whom came from Africa and some of whom were from Southeast Asian countries. Hainan University and China Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences undertook the training.
It is reported that during the Developing-Country-Aid Tropical Agriculture and Tourism Workshop ended in November, the trainees learnt the theoretical knowledge of tropical agriculture and tourism management and carried out on-the-spot investigation to Dingan Orchard and Wanning Tropical Plant Garden. They said that they had learnt a lot of new concepts and experience and deepened their understandings to China and Hainan Province.
