Below are descriptions of five charming towns in Hainan. The towns were selected on the merits of their natural scenery, dining culture, local folk customs, and economic vigor. Each town is notable for something unique.

Beida Town, Wanning 万宁北大镇
 
 
Located at the north side of Wanning City, Beida Town is a small town populated by ethnic groups.

Qicha Town, Changjiang 昌江七叉镇
 
 
Qicha Town, located in the southeast of Changjiang County, is the largest gathering place for Li and Miao ethnic groups.
 
The picturesque town is famous for its bombax flowers, which blossom from early February to March. The bombax flower blossoms offer a great opportunity to get out of the cities and into the fresh air. Surrounded by bombax trees, tourists can relax and take in the natural surroundings.

Ruixi Town, Chengmai 澄迈瑞溪镇
 

 

Good food is always an important part of any journey. Ruixi Town in Chengmai County has many delicious traditional snacks. If you come here, go to one of the local food streets, such as the Ruixi Food Street, to enjoy some traditional snacks such as homemade dried beef, homemade sausage, Zongzi, and fried sesame balls.
 

Shuimanxiang Town, Wuzhishan 五指山水满乡镇
 
 
Located at an altitude of more than 635 meters, Shuimanxiang Town lies to the northeast of Wuzhishan City.
 
Local residents have remained faithful to their ancient traditions and customs. Here travelers can enjoy authentic Miao and Li delicacies, including wild vegetables and bamboo shoots fresh from the mountain, along with rice wine.
 
It’s also an ideal location to enjoy performances of dancing, embroidery and other skills of the Miao and Li ethnic minorities.
