Haikou Municipal People’s Government fulfilled its promises to issue 136 million yuan bonuses to 45 airlines and 27 travel agencies, for their significant contributions in expanding air & tourism markets and promoting local economy development during the last year, announced Thursday by the local government at a press conference on Airlines & Travel Agencies Bonus Awarding.

 

It is learnt that from 2004 to 2012, Hainan provincial government had allocated a total of 142 million yuan in financial supports to the aviation sectors, while the city of Haikou and Sanyan granted altogether 800 million yuan in subsidies. Since 2011, HAK and SYX have seen their annual passenger volumes topping 10 million, edging themselves into the rank of large airports in China.

 

The total bonuses for 2013 ammounted at 136 million yuan including 129.7 million yuan for airlines, and the number is expected to increase to 150 million yuan in 2014. Specifically, the Haikou-based airline and Hainan Kangtai International Travel Service Co., Ltd. were rewarded the most at 24.9 million yuan and 886,475 yuan, respectively. Besides, Beijing Capital Airlines (JD) and Tianjin Airlines (GS) ranked the second and third on the Airlines Bonuses list, with 17.501 million yuan and 13,998 million yuan.

 

Driven by awarding measures and favorable policies in aviation sectors and tourism industry, Hainan attracted more than 10,443 million travelers and achieved a total revenue of over 12 billion yuan in 2013, up 9.6 percent and 18.3 percent year on year.
