More than 1000 people who inherit the skill of Li brocade gathered on the square, showcasing the dyeing and embroidering skills of traditional Li brocade.
It is said that people of Li minority have a long history on Hainan Island, which is more than 3000 years, thus it is called the "living fossil" of the history of China’s textile and was listed in the first batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent safeguarding by UNESCO in 2009.
