China’s Sansha city to set limit on tourist numbers
To better develop the tourism in Sansha, a team of national experts suggested that city should set restriction in the tourist number due to its fragile eco environment on the island.
The maximum capacity of handling tourists on the island is expected no more than 60 each time.
Experts also discussed the possibility of make the city a tourism appointment demonstrating area, which means tourists will be required to get approved by local government and t receive a comprehensive training for environment protection before they visit the island.
Besides, more focus may be given on exploration of historical and cultural relics for the development of tourism in Sansha, which can help strengthen public consciousness of ocean protection and national defense.
Organized by State Oceanic Administration of China, the expert team consists of members of marine culture, environmental protection, tourism and economy circles. The evaluating result will provide preferences for local government to make appropriate plan to begin tourism services on the island.
