Recently, Haikou citizens and tourists can take the beauty of the greenway in the West Coastline of Haikou city, the first greenway built for the urban slow traffic system, reports hainan.net.

According to a relevant department, the first phase of construction of the slow traffic system have been basically completed, covering an area of 100 km in the city center, districts and sub-districts.

The slow traffic system, which meets the general trend of a green lifestyle and is also a solution to problems like traffic jams, car exhaust pollution, and limited parking spaces in the city, has been favored by more and more people living in the city.

With an aim of building Haikou into a leisure and ecological city, the city’s slow traffic system has combined comprehensive functions include sidewalks, bicycle lanes, vehicle-free streets, covered corridors, footbridges, and underpasses as well as bike parking and renting stations.
