Hainan Airlines-Fan Zeng Art Fund launched to promote Chinese arts
A Hainan Airlines-Fan Zeng Art Fund was launched Friday to honor artists who made a significant contribution to Chinese art.
Jointly funded by Hainan Airline company and Fan Zeng, a well-known Chinese painting artist, calligrapher and poet, the art fund aims to promote Chinese arts.
"I am happy to see more Chinese artists to make a mark on the world stage," Fan said.
Chinese baritone Liao Changyong was the first artist who received 500,000 yuan ($75,000) art fund prize.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy awarded Fan as the "Knight of the French Legion of Honor" in recognition of his outstanding achievement and contribution in the cultural exchanges in September.
