Hainan braces to be a warm destination for ‘migratory bird’ travelers
Since Taiwan authorities claim relaxation on travel restrictions to mainland tourists, the beautiful island has seen the number of tourists rising greatly. Self-guided tour to Taiwan will become available during the Qingming Festival in April, 2011.
‘Sofa’ travel originated from the free service offered at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, referring to those who can enjoy comfortable accommodation, free dinner and the host’s accompaniment in a travel-destination city.
‘Migratory bird’ travels are usually designed to the aged tourists, especially those living in the north part of China. They will travel south in winter like a flock to escape from the cold weather. While in summer, they will retreat to the cooler region. In Hainan, some home inns offer short-renting services where tourists can live for a month or even longer.
