Hainan Sun and Moon Bay, a prime place for film shooting and surfing
Hainan Sun and Moon Bay
The half-moon shaped Sun and Moon Bay (ri yue wan 日月湾) faces the South China Sea to the south and is surrounded by mountains to the north. On the southern tip of the bay, a stream from Niuling Hill forms a small lake connecting to the sea that grows the only large water coconut forest in China.
Due to its beautiful scenery, Sun and Moon Bay was chosen by the organizing committee of Ambassador World Travel as a prime shooting location.
Sun and Moon Bay is also a good place for surfing. From Nov. 7 – 8, 2009, the "Surfing Hainan" International Surfing Competition was held here. From the climate and temperature of the sea water to the height of the waves and the force of the wind, Sun and Moon Bay is the perfect choice for surfing.
